Warm enough indoors

A bright, chilly day with snow flurries.

Apparently it is freezing outside but indoors it is nice and warm. This is confirmed by our unusual thermometer, bought in an RNLI shop in Sheringham, Norfolk. I rather like it for its colourful weights, which move up and down as the temperature rises or falls. There is a little tag with the temperature printed on it.

At the moment, I am having to do most things with my left hand as I can't lift my right arm. I am fortunate that this is only for a week or so - many folk have to get used to permanent adjustments because of sudden disability. I am also realising that, because I am on so many painkillers, typing this is taking twice as long as usual because my brain is just not sending the right signals to my fingers.

I so often take simple abilities for granted - it takes a period of even minor disability to make me realise how blessed I really am.
