Nimbus

Cleaned out the hens this morning and then went across to give the ponies their carrots. Nimbus is a little perplexed when I put my arms around her neck to give her a hug but she's the nearest huggable thing to the person I want to hug. My loved one has an excellent way with animals, especially horses and dogs - firm but patient. I, on the other hand, am a soft-hearted sentimental old fool, happy to go down to an animal's level, literally and metaphorically, to see them happy. I do miss my loved one so much, her and her soft, daft, dog.
