Up the Hill

Up the hill to the all important hustings at Pentland Community Centre. Anyway, my man did well - he'd obviously been excellently coached. But not well enough. With a transferrable vote, and the other candidates all eliminated, he lost 57% to 43% in the final round. I think the thinking of many was probably voiced by the old fellah next to me who said that he'd make an excellent MP and be a real asset to the party, but first we, 'have to win the seat'. He just wasn't street fighter enough. And certainly the winner has a great deal of experience at winning elections and is pretty well known locally. And he's a season ticket holder at Tynecastle and is even seen in the Diggers from time to time. Gets my vote then!
