Sunrise
"When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love."
Meditations, Marcus Aurelius (121-180 AD)
In the dark icy depths of winter on the last day of January, I had to make do this morning with a sunrise created artificially by a clever alarm clock which wakes me up gradually with increasing light. A much gentler start to the day than the sudden shock of switching on a bright bedside lamp.
