I suppose starting with a ride on New Year's Day meant there was some inevitability about it developing into a daft 'thing' and the longer it goes on, the harder it is to stop. It's like this Blipfoto thing: once you get into the habit it seems terrible if you break a good run. 

Anyway, January, 551 miles, 29,377ft of climbing (higher than Everest). More than I've done in a single month but no Steven Abraham who's already clocked up nearly 4,500 miles chasing Tommy Godwin's record of over 75,000 miles in a single year.  It's all relative.

Ewan's just back from the first half of a pal's birthday party. He's missing the sleepover and is a bit tearful but it's for the best. He says he feels fine but those kids will be up all night. He needs a decent night's sleep.
