Guyaju caves

We took advantage of another Keystone trip out to Guyaju caves just north of Beijing today. These were built around 200 years ago and housed a group of people who lived separately to the rest of Beijing with their own leader. I'm not too sure of the exact history because there isn't much about them on the internet but we believed they eventually got attacked and all the inhabitants killed.

After this we went to a new section of the Great Wall at Juyongguan pass. This is the steepest part that I think we have walked. It seems to be becoming a group of regulars (staff and students) who go to do the wall walks so Jenny has made a walkers passport for everybody to keep. Each time you do a wall section you get a stamp and the idea is that once you collect six stamps you win a medal. It is nice to get out into the countryside.
