River Marden
I've been down to the river a few times recently hoping to see a pair of dippers that have claimed the territory near to Castlefields Park. On this occasion I walked down to the river across Berhill's Farm from Curzon Park, and walked along the bank until the ground became too boggy to continue, where the river turns at the top of this picture. I saw something scuttle towards the safety of the riverbank reeds there, probably a moorhen, but it didn't reappear. I did watch a wren on the opposite bank. Of dippers there was no sign. On my way back across the field below Berhill's Farm I caught a distant glimpse of a little egret flying onto the river near the weir.
