Cheshire Cat

This is St Wilfrid's church in Grappenhall and it is where we practise bell ringing each week.

Just below the west window is a carving of a cat and it is thought to be the inspiration of the Cheshire cat. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson aka Lewis Caroll was born a few miles away in the parsonage at Daresbury.

It was a grand day to be out walking. Our walk took us through Grappenhall and up to Grappenhall Heys walled garden. It was too warm in the newly restored conservatory so we took our hot chocolate and cake and sat outside.
