How dare you?!
I gave Sidneia one of those frames for multiple photos and asked if she’d like portraits of her grandchildren to put in it. So far, the models have shown zero enthusiasm. One girl refused outright (but I may have won her round today by saying we could take photos of her granddad and me too, and see which image breaks the camera). Her younger sister came by earlier, but quickly decided against it. I sneakily caught her with the long lens as she walked away.
There was the most tremendous storm last night. The heavy rain didn’t last long, but the sheet lightning went on and on, regularly shot through with the widest daggers of forked lightning I’ve ever seen. Apparently, it was even more extreme on Thursday night. Anyone who lived through the floods and landslides of four years ago must have feared for their lives.
Lots of birding today. I was by a stand of ginger when a young Planalto Hermit (as in my blip yesterday) visited some delicate bromeliads, within about 18 inches of me. I stood spellbound as he sipped away for a good minute.
