Snowflakes and Candlemas.
After another (almost) all night sewing, labelling and sorting, I felt rather sleepy this morning. It was one of those mornings when my bed needed me more than the chores/kids/dog/church. But Master Pink who doesn't get excited about church any more, WAS excited to go as it was his bi-monthly "club" and he wanted to go. So we went. There was no Sunday School as the teacher had hurt her back, so Miss Pink tentatively joined in with the big kids.
My Gran got a mention in the sermon, despite it being nearly six years ago that she died.
After communion, the children came into the church for their blessing. The minis had made candle decorations. Our Priest asked Miss Pink what they represented, and shyly he got the answer "Candlemas".
Later at teatime, miss Pink went onto explain about Candlemas, and how we all need to be "little lights in the world" by trying to be kind and helpful to other people.
Away from church, today marked a new chapter in my little craft business, I set up my shelf at Crafty Mums this afternoon. I won free rental for twelve weeks, and I'm quite excited to be part of the shop again.
