Mural

Very late blip today because I have been in Glasgow at a Celtic Connections concert this evening with friend June.

The area around the Merchant City has some amazing murals which I'll just have to go back and blip another day, but today I decided on this one, firstly for its Commonwealth Games/badminton theme, but also because I love the rest of the detail on the side of the building, plus the building on the right, which used to be the Sheriff Court and is now a bar restaurant..

The concert we attended in the City Halls was the final of the Young Traditional Musician 2015 and was broadcast live on BBC Radio Scotland. I believe highlights are being shown on BBC Alba at 9pm tomorrow (Monday) night if anyone's interested.

Needless to say, the six finalists were all very talented; the various instruments included fiddle, clarsach, bagpipes and voice, and the judges had a very difficult task. Although the girl who ultimately won the title was one of our (June's and my) favourites, we preferred one of the fiddle players.

We weren't even consulted! Tsk! *sigh*
