Haere ra South Island Kia ora North Island

Farewell South Island, hello North Island. Today we left Picton at the top of the SI on the Inter Island ferry and travelled through the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound out to Cook Strait and into Wellington harbour. Wellington, capital of NZ, was its usual very windy self but glad to be back in this city where l lived for 5 happy years.

We are staying with old friends M and N. They live in a lovely old wooden house high up on one of the many hills that make up the character of Wellington.
