Lapwing

A very cold but busy day. We even had a flurry of snow.  After a spin class we popped into Exeter to visit a blinds and curtains place and then called in on the bird hides in Topsham. This rather exotic looking Lapwing was preening itself in the marshland while I was taking these shots.  It was surrounded by various ducks including Wigeon, Teal, Shoveler, Mallard as well as Coots and Redshank.  On the way back to the car we saw a large buzzard take off from a tree nearby.  Not bad for a short stop in this area.
