Hazy Sunrise on Poon Hill

After almost 2 weeks of trekking, one of the final rewards of the Annapurna Circuit is a trip up Poon Hill. A relatively modest peak given the scale of the surrounding mountains, this is the busiest spot on the route, with hundreds of people making an early morning effort to reach the top in time for sunrise.

Our day saw a layer of cloud sit in the valleys surrounding the hill, and as the day began to break, the sky lit up strongly while the sun was still out of sight. The crowds were silhouetted against a beautifully colour backdrop.
