Gleniffer Braes

All wrapped up against the cold we went for a ramble in the Gleniffer Braes in Paisley today. It was a favourite place of the Paisley poet Robert Tannahill ... and fine spot indeed for a bit of winter adventuring!

"Keen blaws the wind o'er the Braes o' Gleniffer.
The auld castle's turrets are cover'd wi' snaw;
How chang'd frae the time when I met wi' my lover
Amang the broom bushes by Stanley green shaw"

(Robert Tannahill - from The Braes o' Gleniffer)
