Soft landing!

The tufted titmouse flew down to the fence post and, from the look on her face, was surprised at the soft landing. The 10 inches or so of snow that fell from Sunday morning until it finally stopped 24 hours later was a surprise to the animals in the park. Most of them hunkered down and didn't appear for a photo op, even though the sun was peeking out by the time I took this picture in late afternoon. A few titmice and one chickadee were the only birds I saw when I trudged through the deep snow to reach this fence post. There were plenty of people though. The parking lot and sledding hill were full to overflowing, despite temperatures in the mid-teens. I got some other snowy pics, but don't have time to post them tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
