Best Part Of The Day

In some ways the day was pretty perfect up to about 3 pm, although we'd always worried that Craig Thomson had been allocated the game to ref (McPake's consolation was the first we'd scored in a game he'd ref'd this season, out of six, whereas Hearts had a record under him that would have had them league champions).

Nice run through, and we found a lovely quiet pub 20 minutes walk from Hampden and then a great build-up, but I dont think anyone really thought that an underperforming team that had somehow got to the final was going to be able to keep ahead of a team that finished 6 places above them, and so it proved. The better team probably won, but Thomson's performance will give us an excuse that it shouldnt have been so bad. Maybe not, but at least that wasnt the record humping in the final (we have that record still).
