Thirsty Pigeons

... with blunt beaks:
Breaking ice could take them weeks!

Another beautiful, bright, sunny day, but with a biting wind! After I'd pegged out the washing, I had to thaw my fingers in warm water, as if I'd been snowballing. Much prefer this to grey, wet weather though.

Ice-skating is all very well, but when you're thirsty and your beak isn't sharp enough to break the ice, it's not such fun. I went out and helped the pigeons. Most of the ice is still there this afternoon, but the water holes are still liquid at the moment.
