South by south west

This is the view on maximum zoom from one of the high points on the south west boundary of Birmingham.  It's been a beautiful blue clear cold day today and I was really pleased to be able to get this shot so clearly.

The water in the foreground is Frankley Reservoir which serves some of Birmingham's needs and also acts as a recreational stretch of water for a local sailing club.  Then you look across the suburbs of Harborne to why big white building in the centre of the shot to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital which has a particularly iconic design I think.  It is also home to the major unit in the UK for injured service personnel.  It was also home to Malala Yousafzai  when she was brought to England to recover from her injuries.

Then you are looking at the City Centre with the tallest pale blue building being the Radisson Hotel.  To the left of that, also i pale blue, is the Rotunda which is now one of the popular places to reside in the City Centre,  They are about 5 miles away from where I took this shot.

Proud to have been born in Birmingham!
