Trees at sunset

Went into Kirkwall for a haircut this morning and came  back through thick deep snow!  Very beautiful and exciting driving, but no chance of stopping to take any photos.  

When I got home there was a bit of wet slush about, but nothing like the deep and crisp whiteness of what there was further north.  That's the thing about living at sea level, I suppose!  

These old and gnarled trees are covered in the most wonderful lichen.  I shall go back and photograph them in the daylight sometime!
