Welcome ??
I don't think so.
The gate had spikes on, ornamental - but spikes all the same.
Then in front of the big solid black door, was another set of gates (with the same spikes), padlocked shut.
So you couldn't even get to the front door if you wanted to.
According to the blue plaque above the door, Hannah More (1745 - 1833) was born in the master's house of this charity school, built c1728.
According to the same plaque, she was a christian educationalist, writer and anit-slavery campaigner.

BTW: This was taken whilst I was waiting to go into the dentists to see what they could do about my front tooth that got smashed on Sunday (by JJ's head).
As it was, the dentist was great, and for a mere £50 I now have a rebuilt front tooth (much to JJ's joy)
