Should Have Gone To .......................

Okay - we did.

It is only a year since I had my eyes tested and new glasses made up but I have been feeling that I needed to go back as it has been getting quite hard to read the smaller items on the cars' dashboard.

So off The Cygnet, SWMBO and I trotted this morning to make an appointment.

I was told it would cost me real money as it hasn't been 2 years, but it had to be done.
The very nice lady asked why I felt I needed a new test and on checking the records found that I had details recorded for near, intermediate and far distance so she went and had a word with the optician who advised that varifocals are probably the way to go.

So next week I am picking up a new pair of glasses - only the one pair and without fancy coatings in the meantime to see if I can get on with them.

It was nice to feel that I wasn't being pushed into spending as much as they could squeeze out of me (no eye test fee, a £45 discount for only taking one pair, a selection of prices for frames and being given the option of 4 prices for different quality of lenses) and the woman was extremely helpful in helping choose frames that suited in both fit and 'child friendliness).

While we were in there The Cygnet spent his time taking pictures.
Some were out of focus, some with weird 'composition' (he is only 4) but some were the sort of thing I would take.
This one shows that I really need to trim my hair and beard.

Tonight it is my night for running about daft between getting home, eating, craft meeting and camera club (which is old fashioned real slide shows).
