Is there anybody there

Mum says not to go down that hole because it isn't a rabbit hole, and I have to admit it doesn't smell like rabbits. She says it's a Badger hole and I will get my nose bitten if I go too far, but I can hear them.

Maddy stands and listens with her head on one side really intent on what's down there. We know it's one of the exits from the large Badger set just over the other side of the ridge. But we won't tell anyone where it is. No livestock nearby anyway so I think they will be safe.
