Stepping stones
Today I got to do a bit of the kind of photography I enjoy doing. I like to slow down and take stock of the surroundings — as if to ask a place's permission before I photograph it.
It has been a beautiful day around West Cork today. Very cold but lit beautifully in Spring light and strong shadows.
This is the bridge that crosses the Bandon river at Ballineen. I have crossed it countless times but today I took the time to go beside it and appreciate the skill of the people who built it with bare hands all those years ago.
