The Boating Lake on the Rosehaugh Estate

I love this walk down to the old Boathouse, the lake is in a stunning setting, surrounded by mature conifers and thankfully a thaw has set in so we weren't worried that the dogs, Poppy, Bud and the very handsome Freddie, would take a flying leap onto the ice.

Only lost 1 thing today, Bud's precious ball. We met their friend Bailey so Bud got very exited and dropped the ball. Better than yesterday though!

Sheila's and my topic of conversation today was, bizarrely, mainly concerned with dancing shoes! Both of us possess walking shoes, waterproof snow boots, wellies, worn out trainers, slippers and one pair of "visiting family down south" shoes but no dancing shoes. She has been invited to a family wedding in the summer and on the invitation it states "Please bring your dancing shoes". The image of her dancing at this wedding in her wellies or boots did make us laugh.

I think we needed something to laugh about, the weather and the time of the year has been getting us both down and it was such a relief to have a really silly conversation and to laugh. I think the dogs thought we were mad.
