bird 12
tufted titmouse
baeolophus bicolor
this blip of a titmouse makes an even dozen in the series "birds seen from my porch". she has been an elusive bird to photograph. after another big snowstorm last night, she was hungry enough this morning to ignore me and brave the feeder for a seed.
i have always loved titmice. of course - they are grey. we fed them fifteen years ago at our old house, but this winter is the first time we've had them here.
i try to take away a lesson from each bird i blip. from you, mrs. titmouse, i have learned patience. patience to wait years for your return. patience to wait quietly as you hang back in the foliage. patience to remember that you're not like any other bird - and for that i am grateful.
