5 January 2015 - Progress?
Another day has passed and gone in a whirlwind but it was a good day nevertheless. Spent my morning working on a letter which I was unsure how to phrase but I am hoping that I got the tone right.
Spent my lunch hour with my friend Oliver, lovely to catch up with him again. We walked through Aberystwyth and along the seafront but not before we made a detour to Glyndwr Road to see the houses being demolished for the Tesco development. There is always a sadness when watching houses being taken apart, after all it was someones home full and happiness as well as sadness. Not sure if it is progress so it made a good subject for my picture today.
Medwyn and I went to listen to a photographer called Tom Woods talk about his work this evening. Really interesting to go listen to someone talk about their photography and to look at photos which make you think a bit about the process of photography and the value of photos. I felt that his photos were very freestyle, always with heart behind them but they were completely opposite to how I approach photography. I need to give his style some thought, perhaps I have been too much of a perfectionist with my photos. Are there photos I have taken and dismissed that have value I have not seen?
