February = Fasnacht

February is an exciting month in Basel. It is the month of Fasnacht - an annual carnival held at the end of the month that lasts exactly 72 hours. I will be blipping about it lots over the next few weeks.

Fasnacht in Basel is like Christmas. The city is taken over, including its shop windows. Displays with masks, drums and confetti are starting to pop up around the place. This is the Sprüngli SBB branch.
