Derelict Thursday : Old Warehouse
After the fun last week with the church, I was determined to find another derelict building for the challenge. As I was leaving my workout this morning, I thought I should drive thru "Diamond Hill" which is full of decrepit old houses from the 1800s. When we moved to Lynchburg they were all falling down and the city would almost give them away.
They are all renovated! Even the ones with peeling paint and crooked porches are being fixed up - they are wrapped with Tyvek. I am thrilled, actually. It seems that the city's plan to sell these old buildings for a dollar is paying off. Or maybe we really are in an economic recovery.
I pass this warehouse on my drive to work. I think the broken windows and graffiti count - though why someone would write KNOWL-EDGE on the tower is beyond my ken.
Have a happy day!
