Waitangi Day Celebrations

Today is Waitangi Day in New Zealand , like Ameraica's Memorial Day and Australia's Australia Day.

A nice public holiday to have on a Friday.

Spent a couple of hours at Whakarewarewa Maori Village, which opens it's doors for the celebrations for a gold coin donation. It is a living / working Maori village.

Famous original for it's penny divers, a tradition which still continues today by the local children.

Found this wee popit, wearing here normal clothes, with a flax shirt and clock over the top. Nice look on a warm but windy day here in Rotorua.
