Childhood Home
When my sister was born in the 1940's, my mother, daddy, and I were living in the upstairs apartment in this house. This photo makes it look much better today than it does in person. When we were there a lady named Mrs. Leach lived downstairs, and we lived upstairs. On the right side of the house is a set of stairs (not the same as when we were there) where we usually went to and from our apartment. The house is now divided into 3 living spaces according to the man whose back you see. He's been living there 8 years, but said he is trying to leave since the owner won't fix several neglected items (leaking roof, for example). The house was not painted blue - white - when we were there as I've seen in old photos. A small number of my earliest childhood memories are while living upstairs in this house. We were there when WWII ended.
