Throughout NZ there is a website that is a liittle like a "Neighbourhood Watch".  Each suburb,within each city, joins independently, so one has access to all one's own  neighbourhood. It is great for safety- as the police have access too and can report suspicious characters, or lost people/kids. One can also put up requests for whatever. I put a request up this morning for birdcages or a portable aviary.Have just been out and collected 3 large cages and a pen, a gentleman delighted to now have room in his garage. My daughter this morning had 3 large zucchini that had nearly become marrows...so she put a note up, and a local lady was delighted to pick them up and use them...I am not sure who set it up, but its great.
