Ahoy There!!

Well apart from the "Kookaburra sitting in the old Gum Tree", this must be one of the best vantage points for the Kooka to spot the poor unsuspecting bug or lizard.  The two Emus are metal sculptures by a mountain man called Norman Organ.  We just love them and I must admit they have been a good source of blips from time to time.

I hope you've enjoyed your trip along the Milford Track.  This was a good day, we finished!!  It was a 22km trek from Clinton Hut to the finish line and we were warned that if we got to the finish line early we should sit in the "Bullet Proof Shelter".  This hut was very appropriately named because if you didn't you would be ambushed by the dreaded Sand Flies.  They were dynamite.  Tussock reminded me of the dread SF's in a recent comment, thanks to the Boss we will go armed with some very, very strong Sand Fly repellent when we visit Milford Sound in April.
