Watching and waiting ....
For the postman to deliver my new camera. Well, not entirely new, but new to me, and half of the price new. 2nd hand electronics and photo equipment represent such good value. I seldom buy new.
I want to acknowledge 2 people today, each remarkable in their own way:
Henriette Hanson - an ex work colleague, single mother of 2 children, early 40s at guess (a dangerous thing to do I know) and about to quit her very comfortable and enjoyable job. Why? Because in March, she starts her training to become a train driver; a lifelong dream. My first reaction was WTF, followed by wow, how amazing and it just goes to show that the biggest barrier to achieving our dreams is usually ourselves. Get past that and who knows what is possible. I'm sure Henriette will be a very good train driver - after all, she won't need to reverse a train into a parking space :-)
Uncle Harold - who is actually Diana's great uncle and turns 90 next month. He lives in Middlesborough but phoned us the other day to ask if he could take us out for a meal to celebrate his birthday. He is going to drive to Luton on the Friday, we will go out for a meal Friday evening and then meet him for breakfast on the Saturday before he drives home. All this at 90 years of age. Another example of what positive thinking makes possible - health issues aside, you are only as old as you want to be.
Oh, and I really must stop putting things in my mouth. More about that little habit tomorrow.
