A walk along the River Esk

After a good breakfast, our coach took us to Edzell, and we had a quick coffee in the Panmure Arms, we headed down to the River Esk and walked along towards Gannochy, crossed the road into very pleasant woodland and continued along the river to the Rocks of Solitude.  It was a cold but pleasant day with a bit of ice and snow at times on the footpath, so some found it helpful to wear their grippers.  

Back at the hotel we had some leisure time to swim in the hotel pool or whatever we wanted, and then our piper Archie piped us into the dining room for a lovely dinner.  And afterwards an evening of chatting at the bar before turning in, ready for another good walk tomorrow.
