Pancake Rocks (New Zealand) on a stormy day

Have to say I was dubious about visiting the Pancake Rocks on The west coast of New Zealand.

Everything I'd read about them raved about how good they were. For me that signals one thing : "Disney-fication".

How wrong I was! The storms blowing across the Tasman Sea onto the west coast of New Zealand helped show the Pancake Rocks off to their absolute best. A fantastic piece of natural beauty. So glad we made the 60 mile detour from Hokitika.
