Another Hi-Viz Man
.....but this one was angry! I stopped to take a shot of the frost in early morning sunshine and as I snapped, this chap appeared. I bid him good morning and we engaged in conversation or rather it poured out of him just like the other day!
He was employed to feed electricity and telephone lines to the newly built massive sheds on our route into Sherborne. He started the job before Christmas and it was supposed to take about 4 days. (This sounds familiar). Inefficiencies on the part of BT had him spitting bullets and he was fed up because he was also getting stick from all the forward diaried jobs that were being delayed. He was particularly concerned about a Portland contract. Unless he got there before the seagulls started nesting there was a risk to the employer of another fine from Dorset Council should there be a need to clear debris from the nests.
He then launched into "red tape and elf and safety issues" in particular that he now had to always carry a fistful of cards entitling him to work in certain locations and under various conditions.
Phew! He was not a happy chappy and all this was before I had even arrived at Sainsburys let alone done the weeks shopping!
Happy weekend to you all!
