Sea of Red
My humble poppy arrived today while I was at work. Having just put it together, I thought it best to blip it before I put it outdoors, although I think it might be best to wait until the frost is past so it'll be July before it feels the open air again!
To think that this poppy represents just one of the approximately 880,000 men who died during the Great War, someone whose family probably still feels the loss of that person and what might have been, makes me feel especially proud to be not an owner, but a caretaker of a little bit of history.
I will cherish this piece of art and pass on it's history to my children and their children in the future.
Here is the link to my blip of the poppy installation taken when I visited the Tower back in September.
