Alyssa and her Buddha Baby
Calder is astonishingly composed. I think he must have been a very high lama in his past life. He's easy-going, grateful for all his eyes behold, happy to be here. His mother adores him. This handful of words from Pablo Neruda are what I feel when she gazes at him:
I love the handful of the earth you are.
Because of its meadows, vast as a planet,
I have no other star. You are my replica
of the multiplying universe.
--Pablo Neruda, "XVI" in Cien sonetos de amor.
