Journey Through Time

Guy in a Tree

The house on the other side of our neighbor to the west has several firs in their back yard.  One began to have health problems a few years ago.  I don't believe it was ever determined why, but the limbs began to die, from the top of the tree down.  The home owners, a few years ago, had somebody come out and they decided to top the tree and trim off the dead limbs.  The lady of the house was adamant not to cut the tree down.  Well, it looked terrible and the tree was still "sick" and the limbs continued to die, so today, the tree came down...one limb at a time and piece by piece as  the worker cut a section of the trunk and then dropped it onto a waiting tarp with a large thud.  We had a tree removed a few years ago, but nothing as big as this one.  Over the course of living in this neighborhood for the past 17 years, several of the large firs left by the builders have been removed by the home owners for various reasons.  The removal of this tree is a blessing, as the thing was really not very attractive anymore and I'm sure it was dropping dried up needles all over their yard.  I was concerned that whatever was making this tree die off was something that would spread to the other fir trees.  Cross fingers that didn't happen.

Today, at our all purpose large grocery/plus everything else store, I bought two new decorator pillows to go on our new sofa.  The sofa had two pillows that came with it, but I wanted something else.  These are lighter colored pillows with birds on it, and even though I first thought of something colorful, these pillows are perfect with our sofa.

We had a nice break from the rain this afternoon.  It actually was quite nice for a while, but a bit breezy.  But so warm and spring like with that tropical Pineapple Express blowing in from Hawaii.  We are going to  be having a very early spring if this keeps up.

Bye for now.
