Just like old times

We had a great journey today - Lorraine, Rachel & Jen arrived at 11.30am and we were on the road by midday. The roads were clear, and the Sat Nav said we'd arrive at the Eurotunnel at 1.40pm but our train was 4.20pm. So I went online to check for earlier trains and it was only £14 between us all to change, so we booked onto the 2.50pm crossing. However, when we arrived we got an even earlier one.

We arrived in Waterloo at 6.30pm had a quick freshen up and went straight out to meet my friend Mary at Brasserie Six Colonnes. This was our local Brasserie when we used to live here, and two of the waiters, Claudio and Jean-Luc were still there, although most of the other staff had changed, and they came over to greet me like a long lost friend. We shared a bottle of champagne and then went for dinner at our favourite Thai restaurant Jardin D'Asie.

It's been a great first night, and it's lovely to be back. Looking forward to catching up with other friends tomorrow :-)
