Kayaking and caves
We've had a lovely day kayaking in a very pretty area of lush rain forest and mangroves. And (especially for Technophobe as she was with me last time I did) I did NOT fall in!
We visited the Ban Bor Thor area, and paddled into several caves with stalactites, (even I had to duck a few times as it was high tide) and out of the other side, and once we entered a beautiful tranquil lagoon (which Nikonabike may blip yet).
In one of the caves (we had to get out of our kayaks and climb some rocks for this one) there were quite a few paintings, reputed to be around 3,000 years old. They were about 6 metres higher than the present floor level, and the floor of the cave was littered with shells and fossils, showing that the sea level was much higher than it is now.
It was about a 50 minute drive to where we went kayaking, and on the way back the driver stopped so we could swim in a fresh water stream, which was very refreshing.
When we arrived back at our room this evening, our towels had been sculpted into Mr and Mrs Pig - do you think the staff are trying to tell us something? Yesterday it was two swans, and the day before two rabbits.
Thank you all so much for all the recent comments and stars and hearts. I'm sorry I can't reply, but we just about have enough time to upload our blips as we can only do that back in our hotel room.
