Morning Mist over Milngavie and Close of Day
With the settled spell of cold sunny conditions there have been some wonderful winter weather phenomena - like this mist creeping over Milngavie at 9.30 this morning, making the town disappear and the Campsies almost obliterated from view, but not quite. However 15 minutes later the mist had swept over to North Baljaffray and all was white!
At this point the sun shines strongly on the foreground and the hilltops beyond, with a wonderful azure sky and cloud formations. In the Saturday morning stillness with no traffic noise on the Drymen Road below, the sound of birds chirping fills the windless air. A transient scene to lift the spirits!
The dusk at 5 pm was equally spectacular because this is the same scene from virtually the same spot - a view over to Milngavie looking east - and the sun as we know sets in the west! So some very strange refraction going on that someone, no doubt, will be able to explain. However, I thought this was worthy of adding on to today's blip.
