Times gone by......

The stretch of the River Wey and Godalming Navigation leads to Weybridge 20 miles away and ultimately to the River Thames. 1653 saw the first barge traffic, when horse power was used. Sadly goods are not transported in this manner any more,, which would save large lorries congesting the roads. However, in recent summers horse drawn boat trips take place, so there is a new use for the barges, what better than a slow ride through lovely scenery on a sunny day?
