and the rain came tumbling down.......

Well, here in Mzuzu we have not had a lot of rain and yet we are right in the middle of what should be the rainy season.  Meanwhile in the south of the country we  have about 300,000 people displaced due to flooding and about 150 lost their lives!

Today in the morning it was unbearably hot and we knew rain was coming. I went to a friends house for lunch and came home just before an amazing electric storm began - three hours later and its just calming down!  The thunder and lightning was incredible and the rains came down really hard - it took just under 2 minutes to fill a bucket of rain water!!

Not a great photo but at least it shows the magnitude of the rain falling!!
