The Pinch of Poverty

Painted in oils in 1891 by Thomas-Benjamin Kennington (1956-1916)   Some of his later works were of social realism showing suffering caused by poverty.   This painting caught my eye in the Foundling Museum in London.   An interesting and informative visit.
