Load shedding

This has been the first full week of load-shedding and while inconvenient is hasn't been too bad.  I understand the impact this will have on the economy, but it also brings some positives.  For example I get to speak to my teen who can no longer retreat into her technology, I get to save money and I'm forced to relax in the garden instead of catching up with work stuff.  I woke up during the night when there was load-shedding simply because the world was so very quiet!
Andre Brink died today.  That's a very bright light which has gone out, at least we get to keep his books.
