Moonlight on the Kowhai Stream

After a busy night socialising with the neighbours here in the Forest - both those who are permanent residents as well as some of the bach owners - I realised that we had clear skies above and the stars were out. Time for a night sky shot!

Whilst the moon was extremely bright, I thought I still might be able to get a few stars in the shot, so with midnight approaching I strolled to the ford and then headed down stream. Just a hundred or so metres downstream the bush gives way to this clearing. With the moonlight streaming in from the east and not a breath of wind, the serenity was palpable.
