The Giving Trees (and Monuments)

The lunch time smells were coming from the gourmet restaurants surrounding Veteran's Park, the massive Radisson Hotel, Center of New Hampshire, windows sparkled in the afternoon light and these volunteers were tying scarves around trees and monuments.  Mittens and hats were there too.  This park has been home to the homeless.  A few years ago a friend organized a group to make breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, free to anyone who showed up.  There were times when they served 200 meals.  Then the police said they couldn't do it anymore so they moved it to an indoor location.  Today these people were leaving the scarves and hats and mittens for anyone who needed them.  Teaching the children too.
