Ullapool..
Took G down to Inverness today, she's flying down to Luton to visit her mum.
So I'll have loads of time to take some wonderful pics over the next few days. Ha, dream on!
First job today was to walk Tanni after dropping G off at the airport. There's some lovely woods nearby, and I've found a nice "new" path. It looks as if it's lied with stone, so will be accessible in most weathers.
I was then going to the Garden centre for some compost, but something told me to go to the builders merchants instead. Got there around 11:50, and a good job as they close at 12 on Saturdays. They didn't have everything I wanted, so I tried another one, but it was shut! Then got some chicken feed before trying to get some tyres for the car. Tyre place was just closing, so off to another. This involved going along a dual carriageway, to turn at a roundabout and come back on the other side.
The garden centre was a bit further on, so went there first. Compost, seed potatoes, onion sets, and gooseberry bushes, and lunch. A chat with D & D from the village in the Garden Centre (amazing who you meet in out of the way places!), and then on to the tyre shop! Left the car with them, and took Tanni for a walk, some lovely woods on the way to Raigmore. Back to the tyre depot, and started chatting with a stranger. Turns out she is the dog sitter for Tizzy, my neighbour J's dog, when he goes off on his trekking adventures. Tizzy was with her for around 2 1/2 months over Xmas!
Groceries, and then back to Ullapool for a fish supper. Tried several shots around the heavily floodlit harbour area. Had some close-ups of the new ferry, but liked this more distant shot with the sailing boats in the foreground. Used the on-camera flash to lift the nearer yachts, but kept getting a shadow in the foreground. Took a while to realise it was the lens hood and lens causing it. I've had to crop it off the bottom of this shot!!..
Got some wood, ballast, and engineering bricks for the new greenhouse. All will become clear in the next few weeks!..
Night all..
